Synthesis and comparison of the views of people and elites Regarding priority examples of social harms in Iranian society

Abstract

The first step in the policy making process to control and reduce social harms in the country is to identify priority social harms in the society. Priority social damage should be agreed upon by the people and elites. Because the effective solution of social issues and problems depends on the interaction and agreement of the main stakeholders. In this regard, despite the efforts made to prioritize social harms, a picture of prioritized social harms from the perspective of the people and elites has not been presented in a unified way. Based on this, in this article, an attempt was made to present an integrated picture of prioritized social harms in the country by using the meta-combination method and examining the studies and researches conducted in the field of prioritizing social harms. According to the obtained results, the most important social harms in society from the point of view of social science experts are: 1. Addiction; 2. Violence; 3. Divorce; 4. Crime; 5. Suicide; 6. Social corruption; 7. Vulnerable children and 8. Running away of girls. In the same way, in the view of the general public, the most important social harms in order of priority are: 1. Social corruption; 2. Addiction; 3. Crime; 4. Divorce; 5. Violence; 6. Suicide; 7. vulnerable children and 8. marginalization. The comparison of the above-mentioned examples shows the connection and closeness of the views of the people and the elites regarding the priority social harms at the level of the society.
