Using an interpretive hermeneutic method and drawing on the researcher’s lived experience as a member of the eighth and tenth parliaments, the study examines the role of religious democracy in governing and regulating society in accordance with religious values. The findings indicate that declining participation is not attributable to a single factor but results from a complex interaction of multiple interrelated causes with varying degrees of influence. These include ambiguity regarding the constitutional role and authority of parliament, declining public trust in the political system, economic problems, lack of electoral competition and exclusion of certain political currents, weak performance of the eleventh parliament, and insufficient active participation by legislators in effective governance and the preservation of democratic legitimacy.</span> <em><span dir="RTL" lang="AR-SA">این مقاله براساس نظریات تحلیلی کرسی نظریه‌پردازی در دانشگاه علامه طباطبایی پس از انتخابات دوازدهمین دوره انتخابات مجلس شورای اسلامی در تاریخ 1403/02/22 برای پاسخ به این سؤال نگارش یافته است که چرا مشارکت در انتخابات دوازدهمین دوره مجلس شورای اسلامی به پایین‌ترین میزان خود در سال‌های پس از انقلاب اسلامی رسید؟ مقاله حاضر با روش هرمنوتیک تفسیری با بهره‌گیری از تجارب زیستی پژوهشگر (که دو دوره مجلس هشتم و دهم در مجلس شورای اسلامی به توصیف و تحلیل مسئله کاهش مشارکت داشته است)، می‌کوشد نقش مردم‌سالاری دینی را در اداره و کنترل جامعه، مطابق با ارزش‌های دینی و مذهبی بررسی کند. نتایج به‌دست ‌آمده نشان می‌دهد کاهش مشارکت در انتخابات مجلس یازدهم تک‌علتی نبوده و تابع ترکیبی از علل و عوامل مختلف درهم</span><span lang="AR-SA">‎</span><span dir="RTL" lang="AR-SA">ستنیده و متأثر از هم در حوزه‌ها و زمینه‌های مختلف با میزان تأثیر متفاوت است. ابهام‌هایی در مورد جایگاه، نقش و اختیار دقیق مجلس در قانون اساسی، کاهش اعتماد عمومی به‌ نظام، مشکلات اقتصادی، عدم رقابت و حذف برخی جریان‌های سیاسی، عملکرد ضعیف مجلس یازدهم و عدم مشارکت فعال قانونگذاران برای حکمرانی مؤثر و حفظ مشروعیت دمکراتیک نهادهای نمایندگی را می‌توان برشمرد</span></em> https://nashr.majles.ir/article_10723_9fc92b9c69b711dcb880ccb743fc6f06.pdf
